Workshop:
"Nanotechnology: from lab discoveries to business opportunities and economic growth"
|
||
| Professor Kambiz Pourrezaei, Drexel University, USA |
Nanotechnology promises to be the engine of innovation to create tremendous economic growth as well as to provide solutions to many of our outstanding challenges in particular in medicine. The achievement of this goal requires successful commercialization of research discoveries. However, the perception of the investment communities has been that many of the great promises of nanotechnology are very long term and it requires significant expenditure before any return materializes. In addition, many sceptics consider nanotechnology as another dot.com hypes.
In this workshop, we will focus on various issues surrounding the commercialization of nanotechnology and we will discuss possible short, mid and long term commercialization road maps. We will also present successful commercial examples of nanotechnology.
Topics of workshop:
1. The landscape of intellectual property in the field of nanotechnology
2. Major international governmental investment in Nanotechnology
3. Products in the market utilizing nanotechnology
4. Major investors in Nanotechnology
5. Ethical and social aspect of nanotechnology affecting its commercialization
6. Impact of nanotechnology on addressing the emerging markets
If you feel you can contribute to this workshop and maybe present a paper, please email your abstract/proposal to abstracts@nanosmat-conference.com
